Since 2015, the Stockholm Saxophone Quartet cooperates with the Iranian organization Spectro Centre for New Music.

In 2016, the quartet was invited to participate in the first edition of Tehran Contemporary Music Festival. At the festival, the quartet presented three different programs of Nordic, international and Iranian music. We premiered several works by Iranian composers, a collaboration that has continued to develop since the first initiative in 2015. The collaboration project and participation at TCMF was funded with the support of the National Collections of Music and dance (Sweden).

After our trip to Iran, the collaboration has developed and new music has been composed. The Stockholm Saxophone Quartet has commissioned and premiered music by Aftab Darvishi with support from the Swedish Arts Council, Arshia Samsaminia, Martyna Kosecka and Idin Samimi Mofakham and Reza Mortazavi.
